| Obverse description | Plain cross pattée at centre, enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with small six-pointed stars placed in two diagonally opposite quarters. A circular legend runs around the outer field between the inner and outer borders, the lettering partially worn but typical of the Norman-Hohenstaufen style of southern Italy. The overall design is characteristic of the billon coinage struck for Henry VI and Constance at Brindisi. |

| Reverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, the monogram composed of the conjoined letters A and P (Alpha and Rho, forming a Christogram) occupies the centre of the field, surmounted by the Greek suspension mark Omega (Ω) above; this arrangement alludes to both imperial and religious authority. The surrounding outer legend reads C •INPERATRIX• A•P, identifying Constance as Empress. The lettering is rendered in the bold, somewhat irregular hammered style typical of late 12th-century Sicilian billon issues. |
