| Beschrijving voorzijde | A heraldic leopard passant facing left occupies the central field, rendered in a bold, stylised medieval manner characteristic of Plantagenet coinage. The beast is depicted with raised forepaw and a prominent tail curling upward, set within a plain inner circle. A circular legend in uncial Latin letters runs around the periphery, reading ED PmO GEnITVS R, identifying Edward as the firstborn son of the king. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, as is typical of hammered billon deniers of this period. |
