Obverse description A bold pattée cross enclosed within a raised inner circle occupies the central field, with the four arms of the cross extending to the inner ring. The surrounding outer field bears the margrave's name in a crude Latin legend distributed around the periphery. The lettering is characteristic of late Ottonian hammered coinage, with irregularly formed capital letters typical of late 10th-century German provincial minting.
Obverse script Latin

Reverse description A stylized cross with lozenge- or pellet-shaped terminals is depicted at the centre, enclosed within a raised inner circle. The four quadrants between the cross arms and the inner ring are occupied by letters forming the mint name, distributed around the field in the manner typical of Ottonian-era German deniers. The overall execution is rough and characteristic of hammered provincial coinage of the Meissen margravate.
