| Beschrijving keerzijde | A plain, bold cross occupies the central field, extending nearly to the beaded inner circle, dividing the inner area into four equal quarters. The cross is rendered in high relief against a flat field, enclosed within a beaded circle. The surrounding legend SCI PETRI MONETA, identifying this as the coinage of Saint Peter (Abbey of Corbie), runs in capital letters between the beaded circle and the irregular coin edge. The overall style is consistent with ecclesiastical Carolingian issues struck under royal authority following the Edict of Pitres (864). |
