| 背面描述 | The reverse presents the mint signature of Strasbourg arranged in two horizontal lines of capital letters, again divided by a prominent raised horizontal bar running across the full width of the flan. The upper line bears CIVI and the lower line ARGE, together forming the abbreviated Latin toponym CIVI(TAS) ARGE(NTINA), denoting the City of Strasbourg, known in Latin as Argentoratum or Argentaria. The lettering is boldly cut and slightly irregular in spacing, consistent with hand-engraved dies of the early Carolingian period. The flan is irregularly rounded with a crenellated edge resulting from hammered production. No additional symbols, crosses, or monograms appear in the field. |
