Obverse description Central cross pattée enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with a small ring in one angle, two triangles in adjacent angles, and three pellets in the remaining angle. The surrounding legend in Latin runs along the outer border of the roughly circular flan. The design is characteristic of early 11th-century episcopal coinage from the Swabian region, executed in the hammered style with bold, irregular relief.
