The bishop wears an ornate mitre or crown decorated with a row of pellets or beaded ornamentation. The surrounding field features a variety of decorative motifs including rosettes, annulets, and foliate or scroll elements arranged around the inner circle, characteristic of the Romanesque bracteate style of the late 12th century Augsburg episcopal mint. |
