| Descrizione del dritto | Facing bust of the bishop in half-length, attired in ecclesiastical vestments and wearing a mitra (mitre), with stylized facial features and flanking hair locks rendered in a Romanesque artistic style. The effigy is set within a raised inner circle, surrounded by an ornamental border composed of alternating motifs: stars-in-crescents and fleurs-de-lis flanked by stars. The overall design is characteristic of late 12th-century South German episcopal bracteate coinage, with the decorative border serving both an aesthetic and a structural function on this thin, single-sided flan. |
