Obverse description Central field depicts a kneeling armored duke facing right, rendered in crude but expressive Romanesque style, presenting homage or supplication before the standing figure of Saint Adalbert, patron saint of Poland, who is shown facing front wearing episcopal vestments and mitre, holding a crozier in his right hand. The two figures are enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A peripheral legend in debased Latin characters runs around the outer border, reading partially as S.ADALBERTVS – BOLEZLAV, though letters are irregularly formed and partially retrograde owing to the bracteate striking technique.
