| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of the ruler depicted in Romanesque style, wearing an ornate crown surmounted by a central pellet finial, holding a cross-sceptre in the left hand and a foliate branch or lily sceptre in the right hand. The effigy is rendered in bold relief characteristic of bracteate coinage, with schematic facial features and stylized drapery indicated by pellet and linear decoration at the shoulders. The central design is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a broad border composed of alternating crescent-shaped arches and pellets, creating a distinctive lunette-and-pellet decorative ring. As a bracteate, the design is struck on a single thin flan and appears in relief on the obverse with a corresponding incuse impression on the reverse. No legend is present. |
