| Beschrijving voorzijde | Thin hammered silver bracteate of irregular round flan, struck from a single die as is characteristic of the bracteate coinage of medieval Poland. The upper portion of the field displays an architectural or heraldic motif in relief, rendered in a schematic Romanesque style, above a horizontal dividing band. In the central zone, the Hebrew inscription ברכוה appears in raised letters between horizontal lines. The lower field features a stylized figural or zoomorphic element of uncertain identification, consistent with the primitive die-cutting conventions of twelfth- and thirteenth-century Greater Polish issues. The overall design reflects the influence of Jewish mint-master engravers active under the Piast dukes, a distinctive feature of Polish bracteate coinage of this period. |
