| Descrizione del dritto | Facing or three-quarter bust of a prince, likely representing Mieszko III the Old, set upon a low architectural platform or throne base at center field. The figure is rendered in a stylized Romanesque manner characteristic of Polish medieval bracteate coinage, with simplified facial features and schematic drapery. A border of pellets encircles the entire design, and an outer ring of retrograde or debased Latin lettering runs around the periphery. The overall composition is typical of late 12th-century Greater Polish deniers, with the ruler's image serving as the primary identifying device. |
