| Beschrijving voorzijde | Single-sided bracteate struck in thin silver sheet, depicting a frontal standing figure, interpreted as the prince Mieszko III the Old, centrally positioned within a beaded inner circle. The figure is shown in regal attire with a crowned or helmeted head, arms extended laterally, holding what appears to be a sceptre or lance in the left hand and a heraldic object in the right. Schematic Romanesque rendering typical of late 12th-century Polish bracteate coinage, with bold, stylised lines accentuating the frontal posture. The field surrounding the figure is plain, bounded by a beaded border following the irregular flan outline. |
