Flanking the figure on either side are stylized architectural towers rendered in the Romanesque manner, each set upon a stepped base. The composition is enclosed within a double beaded inner circle, with a partially legible Latin legend occupying the outer annular field. The relief is bold and characteristic of high-quality Thuringian bracteate production of the late 12th to early 13th century. |
