正面描述 Within a raised inner circle bordered by a continuous beaded ring, a stylized linden tree rendered as a five-lobed foliate spray rises from a central trunk, with three root-like projections extending downward at the base. The design is executed in high relief, characteristic of bracteate coinage, with the foliate motif serving as the heraldic emblem of the Abbey of Lindau. The outer border consists of a prominent raised beaded ring encircling the entire composition. No legend or inscription is present. The field within the inner circle is deeply recessed, accentuating the relief of the central device.

附加信息

Lindau Abbey, founded on an island in Lake Constance, held imperial immediacy — answering directly to the emperor rather than any intervening secular lord — and this status carried minting rights exercised sporadically through the later medieval period. Bracteate production at minor ecclesiastical mints like Lindau was already anachronistic by 1290; most of the German bracteate tradition had peaked a century earlier in the northern and central regions, making late Swabian ecclesiastical issues genuinely peripheral survivals rather than mainstream currency.
