The design is rendered in the flat, single-sided relief characteristic of bracteate coinage, with bold, schematic forms typical of late 12th-century South German ecclesiastical minting. The entire device is enclosed within a beaded inner border, itself surrounded by a raised outer beaded rim. The linden tree serves as a heraldic emblem referencing the toponym of Lindau (Linden Island), alluding directly to the issuing abbey. No legend is present.
