Obverse description Equestrian figure of a mounted knight or bishop facing right, depicted in profile astride a horse rendered in a crude, archaic style characteristic of 12th-century Polish ecclesiastical coinage. The rider appears to carry an object, possibly a crozier or lance, held upright in the right hand. The design occupies the full field of the irregularly shaped flan, with no visible legend. The overall execution reflects the primitive die-cutting technique common to early medieval Polish deniers.
