| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central motif consists of a plain cross with splayed arms, enclosed within a raised circular ring or annulet, set against an unadorned inner field. Between the arms of the cross, small pellets or wedge-shaped elements are visible. Radiating lines or spokes emanate from the central annulet toward the outer legend zone, echoing the wheel-spoke arrangement of the obverse. The surrounding peripheral legend, IN NOMINI DNI (a contracted rendering of the devotional formula 'In Nomine Domini'), is executed in Carolingian majuscules of irregular height and spacing, consistent with the hammered production of Lüneburg mint coinage of the reign of Bernard I (1011–1059). |
