Obverse description Central field depicts a running marten (weasel) in profile facing right, flanked by two six-petalled rosettes positioned above and below the animal. The marten, a heraldic symbol of Slavonia, is rendered in a stylized medieval manner within a plain inner circle. Surrounding the inner circle is the circular Latin legend, bordered on the outer edge by a continuous beaded rim. The overall design reflects the characteristic hammered workmanship of 13th-century Central European deniers.
