| 裏面の説明 | A bold cross occupies the central field, with each arm terminating in outward-facing crescents at the extremities, giving the cross an ornate, floriated character. Between the arms of the cross, inward-facing double crescents are arranged symmetrically within a beaded inner circle. The combination of crescents and cross motifs reflects the hybrid Romanesque decorative vocabulary prevalent in Hungarian royal coinage of the twelfth and early thirteenth centuries. The flan is irregular and the strike is typical of hand-hammered medieval silver production. |
