Denier ANNAROVECI

The Eburones were the Belgian Gaulish tribe Caesar described as the largest north of the Ardennes — and the one he came closest to annihilating. Following Ambiorix's destruction of fifteen Roman cohorts at Atuatuca in 54 BC, Caesar launched a systematic extermination campaign, burning settlements and enslaving survivors across multiple seasons. Coinage attributable to the Eburones is consequently among the rarest of all Belgian Gaulish issues; most of it stopped being produced and used within a decade of minting.

The ANNAROVECI inscription likely records a chieftain's name, a naming convention that helps distinguish this type from the broader anonymous Eburones coinage.
