Popis líce Schematized head facing right in a bold, abstracted Celtic style, with a ring or annulet depicted beneath the chin. The legend ANNAROVECI is distributed around the periphery of the die, rendered in irregular Latin characters typical of Belgic coinage of the late La Tène period. The facial features are rendered in a highly stylized, non-naturalistic manner consistent with the artistic conventions of the Eburones tribe.

Další informace

The Eburones were the Belgian Gaulish tribe Caesar described as the largest north of the Ardennes — and the one he came closest to annihilating. Following Ambiorix's destruction of fifteen Roman cohorts at Atuatuca in 54 BC, Caesar launched a systematic extermination campaign, burning settlements and enslaving survivors across multiple seasons. Coinage attributable to the Eburones is consequently among the rarest of all Belgian Gaulish issues; most of it stopped being produced and used within a decade of minting.

The ANNAROVECI inscription likely records a chieftain's name, a naming convention that helps distinguish this type from the broader anonymous Eburones coinage.
