Reverse description The reverse bears no conventional legend; instead, a series of small circles are arranged in place of an inscription around the field. The central device features a bastion or gateway flanked by two towers set upon an arch. Above the arch, a stylized branch or foliate ornament is positioned between two small circles, while a leaf motif appears below the arch. The overall composition is characteristic of the architectural and heraldic imagery found on early 13th-century Hungarian deniers, executed in a bold, simplified relief.
