Obverse description A plain cross divides the field into four quarters, each containing a pellet. The cross arms extend toward a beaded or pearled inner circle, with a fragmentary Latin legend running along the outer field. The die-work is characteristic of early medieval episcopal coinage, with crude but intentional design elements typical of the Ottonian period.
