| Beschrijving voorzijde | Seated princely figure shown in right profile, enthroned, holding a sword upright in the right hand with the left hand raised in a gesture of authority. The effigy is rendered in a schematic, archaic style characteristic of early Russian hammered coinage. The figure is enclosed within a beaded border on the irregular flan. The overall composition reflects the iconographic tradition of Rus principality coinage of the early 15th century. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Vasily Dmitrievich of Nizhny Novgorod struck coins during a politically precarious window following the Muscovite annexation of the principality in 1392. His coinage represents a persistent assertion of local dynastic authority under pressure from Moscow — the Nizhny Novgorod princes continued issuing their own денги well into the fifteenth century despite the grand principality's formal absorption. The HP II#1950А designation places this among the more precisely catalogued varieties of a series that remains difficult to attribute without die study.
