| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic inscription arranged across the field within a beaded or dotted border, reading 'КНЯЗЬ ВЕЛИК ДАНИЛО' (Grand Prince Danilo). The lettering is boldly cut but somewhat irregularly spaced, consistent with hand-engraved dies of the Nizhny Novgorod monetary tradition. The coin's irregular flan causes portions of the legend to fall off the edge on some examples. |

Daniil Borisovich reclaimed Nizhny Novgorod twice — his second reign running through the 1420s came after years of Muscovite pressure that had effectively absorbed the principality following his father Boris Konstantinovich's defeat. The denga series from this period reflects a ruler asserting autonomy on coin during a window when Moscow's grip briefly loosened, only for the principality to be permanently absorbed into Muscovite territory within a generation.
