| Obverse description | Central field depicts two facing figures seated side by side: the Patriarch of Aquileia on the left, shown frontally in ecclesiastical vestments with a mitre, and a secular ruler on the right, similarly enthroned and crowned, together symbolising the spiritual and temporal authority of the patriarchate. Both figures are rendered in a flat, stylised Romanesque manner typical of 12th-century Italian hammered coinage. A partial circular legend surrounds the design, reading AQVILEGIA · P · GO TI, abbreviated for Aquileia, Patriarch Gottfried (Godfrey). The coin exhibits an irregular flan with a beaded or rope inner border framing the central design. |

| Reverse description | Central device depicts a stylised patriarchal cross with a double crossbar, flanked on either side by a tall candlestick or column, all rising above a Romanesque architectural base rendered as a gabled structure with a row of pellets along its lower register. The composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with a plain outer border following the irregular flan edge. The design is executed in a flat, linear Romanesque style characteristic of northern Italian ecclesiastical coinage of the late 12th century. No legend appears on this side. The patriarchal cross motif serves as the principal emblem of the Aquileia patriarchate. |
