| Descrizione del dritto | Within a beaded inner circle, a stylized three-towered castle with a central arched gateway, flanked by two lower side towers, all rendered in the bold, flat relief characteristic of medieval hammered coinage. The central tower is the tallest and features crenellations at its summit, with the two flanking towers similarly battlemented. The surrounding legend, separated from the castle design by the beaded border, reads ✠ CIVITAS · AQVILЄGIA. The overall field is slightly concave, consistent with the flan preparation of 13th-century Italian denari. |

The right hand holds a processional cross and the left hand holds a book or Gospel, with the figure's feet visible below the throne. The legend flanking the enthroned patriarch reads BERTOLDVS P., identifying the issuer as Berthold, Patriarch of Aquileia (1218–1251). The composition is divided vertically by the central figure, with the inscription distributed across both sides of the field.
