Obverse description Bare or lightly diademed head of Faustus Cornelius Sulla, facing right, rendered in fine Republican style with detailed curling hair and a short beard suggested by the die engraving. The portrait is set within a plain field with a beaded border, and the abbreviated legend FEELIX curves around the upper left of the field, referencing Sulla's cognomen Felix. This obverse was struck from a die reproducing a Republican prototype, as part of Trajan's celebrated restitution coinage series.

Reverse description Diana, depicted as huntress goddess, standing and driving a biga (two-horse chariot) at full gallop to the right, her drapery billowing behind her and her arm extended forward holding the reins. Stars are visible in the field above the horses, evoking the divine nocturnal context of the goddess. The wheel of the chariot is prominently rendered in the lower field, and the name FAVSTVS appears in the exergue, identifying the original Republican issuer Faustus Cornelius Sulla. The reverse legend curves around the upper and lateral fields, attributing the restitution to Trajan.
