Descrizione del dritto	Diademed and draped bust of Ptolemy of Mauretania facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic royal portrait tradition. The king's hair is elaborately styled beneath a royal diadem, with visible detail in the locks framing the face. The bust is truncated at the shoulder, showing a draped paludamentum. The Latin legend REX PTOLEMAEVS runs around the periphery of the field.

Descrizione del rovescio	A tall palm tree, symbol of royal Mauretanian coinage, occupies the center of the field, its fronds spreading prominently at the crown and its trunk rising from a ground line. Two pellets appear flanking the lower trunk. The abbreviated Latin legend RAX is disposed across the lower field to either side of the trunk, representing a regnal year date. The design is contained within an irregular flan with no border.
