A youthful victimarius (sacrificial attendant) stands to the right, facing left, and restrains the animal for the ritual. The scene is rendered with considerable narrative detail, evoking Rome's religious antiquity and the moneyer's dynastic connection to the Pomponii. The name NVMA•POMPIL appears in the exergue, with MA and MP rendered as ligated monograms.
