Beschrijving voorzijde Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine engraving typical of the late Roman Republican moneyer tradition. The moneyer's name legend L•POMPON•MOLO is inscribed counterclockwise in the field, running between approximately 11 o'clock and 4 o'clock positions around the portrait. The facial features are crisp, with the laurel wreath clearly articulated across the brow. No border of dots is consistently present on hammered specimens, and the flan shape may vary.
Schrift voorzijde Latin

Beschrijving keerzijde Numa Pompilius, the legendary second king of Rome, stands left with head turned right, holding a lituus (augural staff) and preparing to sacrifice a goat at a flaming altar. A youthful victimarius (sacrificial attendant) stands to the right, facing left, and restrains the animal for the ritual. The scene is rendered with considerable narrative detail, evoking Rome's religious antiquity and the moneyer's dynastic connection to the Pomponii. The name NVMA•POMPIL appears in the exergue, with MA and MP rendered as ligated monograms. The composition fills the flan in a well-balanced, pictorial style characteristic of the innovative reverse types of the late Roman Republic.
