Obverse description A praetorian galley depicted in profile, sailing to the right, with oars extended below the hull and a mast with furled sail visible amidships. The prow is equipped with a prominent ram (rostrum), and a standard (sceptre) rises at the stern. The surrounding legend ANT·AVG·III·VIR·R·P·C arcs around the field, with the dotted border of the coin visible at the periphery. The workmanship is characteristic of a military travelling mint, with somewhat irregular striking but clearly rendered naval iconography intended to project Antony's command of the seas.

Reverse description A legionary aquila (eagle standard) displayed centrally between two signa militaria (military standards), the three emblems arranged in a tight group within a dotted border. To either side of the standards, rows of circular shields are depicted, evoking the decorated fascia of a legionary column on the march. The legend LEG V is inscribed in the lower field beneath the standards, identifying this issue as struck for the Fifth Legion. The overall composition is bold and schematic, consistent with the urgency of a mobile military mint producing coinage to pay troops on campaign.
