| Obverse description | Seven lines of Latin votive inscription arranged within a corona civica (oak wreath), the wreath rendered with individual leaves and berries visible around the entire circumference. The inscription records the senatorial vows offered to Jupiter Optimus Maximus on behalf of Augustus, referencing the restoration of the Republic. There is no portrait; the entire obverse field is occupied by the epigraphic text framed by the wreath. The style is characteristic of the Augustan monetary reform period, emphasizing civic and religious themes over imperial portraiture. |

| Obverse lettering | I O M S P Q R V S PR S IMP CAE QVOD PER EV R P IN AMP AT Q TRAV S E (Translation: Iovi Optimo Maximo, Senatus Populusque Romanus, Vota Suscepta Pro Salute Imperatoris Quod Per Eum Res Publica In Ampliore Atque Tranquilliore Statu Est. The Senate and the Roman people have addressed vows to the best and greatest Jupiter for the preservation of the supreme commander (Imperator) and Caesar, in acknowledgment of his reestablishment of the republic in a better, richer, happier, and more tranquil condition.) |
| Reverse description | A tall, rectangular cippus (inscribed stone pillar or boundary marker) occupies the central field, bearing the votive inscription in multiple lines. To the left and right of the cippus appear the letters S and C (Senatus Consultum), flanking the monument in the field. The moneyer's legend, L MESCINIVS RVFVS IIIVIR, runs around the outer periphery of the reverse. The composition is strictly epigraphic and architectural, with no figural elements, consistent with the austere civic iconography favoured in Augustan coinage of this series. |
