A horizontal ground line divides the field from the exergue. In the lower left field, a secondary alphabetical control-mark (letter) is visible. In the exergue, the moneyer's legend D•SILANVS•L•F appears on the upper line and ROMA on the lower line, identifying the issuing magistrate as Decimus Junius Silanus, son of Lucius. The coin is bordered by a dotted inner circle. |
