Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Juba II facing right, his hair rendered in wavy strands with a prominent diadem, the portrait executed in a Hellenistic style blending Roman and North African artistic conventions. A six-pointed star appears in the left field before the king's effigy, serving as a dynastic or divine symbol. The Latin legend REX IVBA runs along the right periphery, identifying the ruler by name and title. The coin's flan is slightly irregular, characteristic of Mauretanian hammered silver coinage of this period.

Reverse description Central field depicting two principal cult symbols of the goddess Isis: to the left, a sistrum with its characteristic looped frame, handle, and transverse rods; to the right, a bucket-shaped situla used in ritual libations. These emblems reflect the strong Ptolemaic religious influence associated with Cleopatra Selene, daughter of Cleopatra VII and Mark Antony. The Greek legend is disposed in two lines across the lower field, separated by a dotted line, reading BACIΛI above and ΚΛΕΟΠΑΤΡΑ below, collectively identifying the queen. The composition is austere and hieratic, consistent with Hellenistic royal coinage of the early 1st century AD.
