A long sceptre is positioned behind the deity's head, partially visible in the left field. The portrait is boldly struck in high relief, exhibiting the archaic stylistic conventions characteristic of Trajanic restoration coinage. The legend DOSSEN appears in the lower field, identifying the moneyer Lucius Rubrius Dossenus whose original Republican issue this coin restores. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A small winged Victory drives a quadriga at full gallop to the right, holding the reins and a wreath, the four horses rendered in vigorous motion with detailed musculature. The composition faithfully reproduces the original Republican denarius type issued by the moneyer Lucius Rubrius Dossenus. The encircling legend occupies the upper and lateral fields, while the moneyer's name L RVBRI appears in the lower exergual area. The die work reflects the deliberate archaism employed by Trajan's mint in reproducing earlier Republican monetary types as part of his celebrated restitution series. |
