| Obverse description | Bare-headed, bearded bust of Hadrian facing right, draped and cuirassed, with the emperor's characteristic full beard rendered in finely detailed curls. The portrait displays the mature, Hellenizing aesthetic favored by Hadrian, with close-cropped curly hair across the forehead. The encircling Latin legend reads HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, distributed around the periphery of the flan. A beaded border frames the design. The effigy is executed in the high-relief sculptural style characteristic of the Rome Mint during Hadrian's later reign. |

| Reverse description | Hadrian, togate and standing left, extends his right hand to raise the kneeling figure of Gallia, a personification of the province of Gaul shown in local dress and reaching upward with her right hand to accept the emperor's assistance. The composition is a standard 'restitutor' type emblematic of Hadrian's celebrated provincial tour policy. The exergual line provides a ground line beneath the figures, and a beaded border encircles the design. The encircling legend RESTITVTORI GALLIAE, distributed across the upper field, identifies the scene as a tribute to Hadrian's role as restorer of Gaul. |
