The surrounding Latin legend runs clockwise from lower left along the coin's periphery, partially divided by the bust. The flan exhibits the characteristic irregular shape of an early second-century hammered denarius, with some surface patination visible. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The personification of Pietas, veiled and draped in flowing robes, stands facing left in a static, hieratic pose. Her right hand is raised in a gesture of supplication or offering, while her left arm rests at her side with drapery gathered about it. The figure is rendered in fine relief against a plain field, with the identifying inscription PIETAS appearing in the lower field to either side of the figure. The surrounding legend, continuing Hadrian's titulature, runs along the periphery of the irregularly shaped flan, with areas of weakness consistent with the hammered production technique. |
