She holds aloft a military trophy with both hands, the trophy comprising captured arms and armour arranged upon a post. The reverse legend P M TR P COS III is distributed around the field in Latin capitals, referencing Hadrian's priestly, tribunician, and consular titles. The design is enclosed within an inner bead border, and the overall composition reflects the accomplished die-cutting of the Rome mint workshops during the early Hadrianic period. |
