The portrait displays the characteristic strong-jawed Flavian physiognomy with a slightly fleshy neck. The encircling legend is incuse in a beaded border, reading continuously around the periphery of the flan. The overall style reflects the accomplished die-cutting of the Rome mint under the Flavian dynasty. |
