Obverse description Jugate busts of the Dei Penates facing right, the foremost deity wearing a wreath or diadem, the second partially visible behind, both rendered in fine relief with detailed hair treatment. The legend DEI•PENATES appears in the field, reading partially around the lower and left portions of the design. The composition is enclosed within a border of dots, characteristic of late Republican coinage. The jugate arrangement alludes to the divine pair of household gods venerated in Roman religion, a reference to the moneyer's gens and its religious associations.
