The composition closely imitates the reverse type of the Roman Republican denarius of Decimus Junius Brutus Albinus (moneyer, 48 BC), though rendered with the schematic, slightly distorted workmanship typical of Dacian barbarous imitations. A partial retrograde or garbled legend, approximating BRVTI F., is distributed in the field to left and right, preserved with varying legibility depending on the die state. |
