The goddess's features are rendered in fine Hellenistic style with a high degree of naturalism and sculptural relief. A hippocamp appears in the field behind the head. The flan is irregular, characteristic of hand-struck Syracusan gold coinage of this period. No legend appears on the obverse. |

| 裏面の説明 | A swift biga driven to the left by a charioteer who holds the kentron (goad) and reins with outstretched arms, depicted in vigorous motion with the horses at full gallop. The scene is executed in the dynamic Hellenistic tradition characteristic of Syracusan die engraving. A monogram appears in the lower field beneath the horses. In the exergue, the Greek legend ΙΕΡΩΝΟΣ (genitive of Hieron) identifies the issuing authority as Hieron II, king of Syracuse. |
