| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate head of Apollo facing left, rendered in fine high relief characteristic of late Classical Syracusan coinage. The youthful, idealised effigy displays finely engraved curling locks arranged beneath the laurel wreath, with individual leaves and berries modelled with exceptional artisanal precision. The facial features are smooth and idealized, with a straight nose and slightly parted lips, reflecting the refined Hellenistic artistic tradition of the Syracusan mint. The broad, unadorned field surrounding the portrait emphasizes the sculptural quality of the die work. No legend appears on the obverse. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A charioteer (heniochos) stands erect in a galloping biga racing to the right, holding the kentron (goad) extended outward in his raised right hand and the reins gathered in his left hand. The horses are shown in full gallop with dynamic energy, their hooves lifted from the ground line. In the exergue below the biga, a triskeles symbol and the control letter Phi (Φ) appear as secondary devices. The encircling Greek legend ΣYP-A-K-OΣIΩN (of the Syracusans) is distributed around the reverse field, identifying the issuing city-state. |
