| Obverse description | Imperial double-headed eagle displayed, each head crowned separately beneath a single overarching crown, with a heraldic shield on the breast. The entire device is contained within a pearled inner circle, with the Latin legend running between the inner and outer borders of the coin. The bold, deeply struck eagle motif follows the German Renaissance style typical of mid-sixteenth-century Low Countries coinage. |
