| Aanvullende informatie |
Herman Dirk, who inherited Batenburg in 1568, operated his mint at a moment of maximum political chaos in the Low Countries — the early years of the Dutch Revolt against Spanish Habsburg authority. Minor lordships like Batenburg exploited the breakdown of central control to strike coins that technically violated imperial minting ordinances, and Batenburg was among the more prolific offenders. The daalder series from this mint is notably irregular in die workmanship, with multiple unlisted varieties suggesting small, unsupervised production runs.
The vdCh reference gap (3#–) indicates this specific die combination remains uncatalogued in the van der Chijs corpus.
