| Beschrijving keerzijde | A boldly rendered rampant lion facing left, with raised forepaws and prominent tail curled over its back, depicted in vigorous relief within a beaded inner circle. The beast is stylistically consistent with the heraldic lion type common to Low Countries lion daaldars of the sixteenth century. The date 1577 is incorporated into the surrounding legend, which is separated by ornamental cross stops. The legend encircles the lion within the beaded border, with the field largely occupied by the central charge. The overall execution is characteristic of hammered silver coinage produced in the minor lordships of the Habsburg Netherlands. |
