Obverse description A displayed eagle with spread wings facing left occupies the central field, rendered in bold relief in the hammered style typical of late 16th-century Low Countries coinage. The eagle's body features cross-hatched feathering, with talons extended downward. The mintmaster's initials T and S flank the eagle at the lower left and right of the field respectively. A circular legend in Latin runs along the periphery within a beaded border, identifying the issuing region.
