| Popis rubu | Two standing figures depicted side by side in the field, identified as Tsar Ivan and his son Mikhail, rendered in a schematic hammered style. Both figures are shown frontally in royal or imperial garb, a compositional type common to Bulgarian imperial coinage of the 14th century. The flan is irregular and the surfaces heavily patinated with cuprous corrosion. Details of regalia and garments are partially discernible despite significant wear. The composition follows Byzantine-influenced iconographic conventions adapted by the Tarnovo mint under the Shishman dynasty. |
